JT's Healing journey
At age 54, JT’s kidneys were failing. Although regular dialysis treatments kept him going, the kidney transplant he’d hoped for became an elusive wish when he was diagnosed with prostate cancer. And, fatigued from chronic hepatitis, he had been on disability for two years.

His HMO required a 5 year cancer-free interval after diagnosis and treatment, before allowing him back on the waiting list for a new kidney. Our efforts initially focused on finding him another center which was willing to put him on their waiting list immediately as long as his oncologist vouched for his cancer-free status. And they were able to do it all through Medicare so the HMO’s restrictions didn’t apply.

Next, we focused on nutrition and specific nutritional supplements addressing both kidney and prostate issues, which included some leftover “side” effects of the cancer treatment. Then we helped implement a weight training program. JT got a “new lease on life.” He was able to return to work and look forward to his future with some optimism.

  • A list of all current medications, vitamins, herbal remedies, nutritional supplements, etc.

your first appointment

During your first telephone appointment with Dr. Bouch, you will be asking each other a lot of questions. Dr. Bouch will want to know about your condition and decisions that have been made about your care. You will want to share your concerns with him and ask about your options. Based on that conversation, Dr. Bouch will share his preliminary thoughts with you and together you will determine the next steps. In most cases, Dr. Bouch will then:

  • review your medical records
  • launch a global, medical literature search to discover articles, treatments, and clinical trials related to your condition
  • analyze all of the information and share his findings with you in subsequent phone appointments
  • work with you to formulate a personalized plan that offers the best opportunities for your improvement
  • maintain regular phone contact with you to keep the process on track, chart your progress, and discuss any new ideas or concerns you may have
